Yep, you read that right. I have joined the PT group.
Oh, you thought PT = Personal Trainer. 😂😂😂 I can see how this could confuse you. But no, I'm not (yet) a physical exercise fan - one day that will change.
The PT group I'm talking about is the Part-Time-Employees-Group.
Now I'm managing kids, hubby, home, employment and my own business. This was my first week in the PTEG, it was exhilarating and exhausting.
So why the PT role?
I'd been thinking about a PT role for awhile. During my long thinking time, my husband needed to make major changes to his working arrangements (one that I ultimately helped in his decision making). The effect of long travel and not seeing our kids was really getting to him. I would see the strain on his face when he left the house before they woke up and disappointment when he would arrive home after their bedtime.
The long days made me super tired and grumpy around the kids and him. A no-win for our family.
All through the long days, his support of me building my marketing consultancy small business has been constant at every step and at every decision I've made. I've not been an "employee" for 3 years (part of the reason I started The Communication Place).
It was the time to jump back in, juggle life and show my unwavering commitment to support my husband.
This time I was fortunate, Seek had a job listed, I liked the sound of the role and company. I applied and now I'm there (phew!). First week done, and I loved every minute of it.
So what does this mean for my own marketing small business, The Communication Place?
I'm consolidating for 2019. This year has been a big learning curve, establishing my brand name, making connections, finding my price point and defining my USP. Constant learning and doing small business stuff I never thought I would do in my career, like recording my own weekly video series on Facebook!
Adding the new PT role has cemented my marketing business goals for 2019. Efficiency will be a "key focus area". As well as showing my family how much they mean to me by continuing to learn and support them. ❤
All that said, now it's your turn, do you have personal and business goals for 2019? How do you balance your family and work? Send me message to email@example.com I'd love to hear from you.
